Boom Man Charged for Killing George Price's Brother

Almost 5 months after 85 year old Samuel Price was found murdered at his Northern Highway home, the police have arrested a Burrell Boom Villager for the crime.

The accused is 25 year old Shane Gillett, a laborer of Burrell Boom. Gillett was arraigned on a charge of murder when he appeared today in the number one Magistrate's Court. Chief Magistrate Margaret McKenzie remanded him until September 15.

Price was the younger brother of PUP leader Emeritus and former Prime Minister George Price.

He lived alone and was found dead at his home at Tarpon Cove, at 5 and a half miles on the Northern Highway on Saturday morning April 16.

He had last been seen alive around 5:30p.m on Friday, April 15. Apparently he was bludgeoned to death.

Initially one adult and two minors were detained in connection with the murder but they were released.

Reports are that the current suspect is also being investigated for possible involvement in another crime which occurred in the city.
