Stabbing Report May Be Related To Area Feuding
posted (September 22, 2011)
While in the area on Victoria Street this morning, Erica Martinez a resident of the neighborhood approached us, saying it was her brother that was the intended target in yesterday's murder.

Martinez told us, she believes the shooting was set up by a police officer and says her brother was taken away after the shooting and beaten badly by the GSU.

We were told that Eric Martinez Jr. was later charged for attempted murder in a stabbing incident. His sister says, it was not him and she is tired of police taking advantage of her brother.

Here are her very frank comments on the situation:

Erica Martinez - Sister of Eric Martinez Jr.
"I am concerned for my brother that Inspector Mark Young - he is for the Kelly Street them. What we got to understand, as they came and told us this morning - a little while ago - that he sent Green, and the other one named, Boots, to come and kill my brother, who is Eric Martinez Jr. And I know my brother is no saint; I know he is a trouble man, but nobody need to take anyone's life. And instead of them kill Jr., they killed poor little Joshua, poor little thing, an innocent 9 year-old."

Monica Bodden
"So it was your brother who they came for."

Erica Martinez
"Yes, and I am tired of Mark. It's not today, nor yesterday he is harassing my brother. First, they set him with with Shenique. Shenique sent him to jail with a bullet in his foot. They had him in there with that bullet - before he came out about a month ago, they just took out the bullet. They keep 'chancing' my brother; I am tired of them."

Reporter
"How do you know this? How do you know that it was after him they were sent him, and who sent him?"

Erica Martinez
"We were told by one of his family members - because they don't know that everybody know everybody around her - we were told by one of his family member, just a little while ago, that it was Inspector Mark Young - I don't care if he is mad or what. I am more angry because it was my brother that they are after. We may not have all of our parents to be behind us, but I have to look after my brother because he is the oldest on for us, and he takes care of us. So I have to talk."

Monica Bodden
"And about the footage - the footage that you are getting for me - what is that?"

Erica Martinez
"Well, I didn't know that they got it camera; I just know about that now. That's when they brought my brother around her beaten."

Monica Bodden
"So they picked up your brother?"

Erica Martinez
"Yes, The GSU brought him yesterday."

Monica Bodden
"After the shooting, did they pick him up?"

Erica Martinez
"After the shooting, yes."

Reporter
"So they brought him, and what happened?"

Erica Martinez
"They beat him up."

Monica Bodden
"They brought him back beat-up"

Erica Martinez
"Yes, it's like they brought him to tantalize us and show us that they have one of our men."

Reporter
"This is the same one that you are saying that the shots are intended for?"

Erica Martinez
"Yes, my brother, they beat him really bad."

Reporter
"Where is he right now?"

Erica Martinez
"Right now? They just came and told me that they were supposed to have taken him to court or to hospital. I don't know where they have him right now."

Reporter
"What are they detaining him for?"

Erica Martinez
"For attempted murder, and for a stabbing incident, that's what what they told me yesterday."

Reporter
"This was the stabbing that happened when?"

Erica Martinez
"Yesterday, and they said that blood was on his bike. Blood had to have been on his bike. My brother jumped that fence, over there, and that's how he got cut, yesterday when an incident was happening over there with the Jones. He jumped that fence, and it was right there that his hand got cut, and that's how the bike has blood on it. But the police don't know that; he was trying to part family business. I was right there trying to take him out of it, and a little while after I went home, they came back and told me that police beat up my brother, and shot him again. For what? This is our hood; we hang out here. You mean to tell me that we can't come out here and hang out, 'chill', laugh and talk with each other? To please whom, them? Who are they? They are not God. I am tired of this nonsense. Marky, I have a message for you, please eat him, because we don't have money to bury him. I am telling you straight and plain. Eat him, or else he is going to middle of Kelly Street, and you will do something with it. He will rot there."

According to police, there are no reports of any stabbing in that area yesterday...
