posted (September 29, 2011)
Russell James Jr. is a resident of Belize City who was knocked down on Friday in front of Belize Water Services. It happened around 4 o'clock in the evening while James was talking to a friend near the sidewalk. He said he ended up under the vehicle of the person who knocked him down and was unconscious for over 5 hours.

Today he is out of the hospital - but has a different problem. He told us that the person who knocked him down has not been charged and he is calling on the police to bring him to justice.

"This incident occur about 4 o' clock by WASA, I was talking to a female and all of a sudden this vehicle came and hit me from backward. The next minute I was in the hospital."

Monica Bodden
"Were you on a bicycle or you were just standing on the sidewalk?"

Russell James Jr., knock down
"On a bike."

Monica Bodden
"By the sidewalk?"

Russell James Jr., knock down
"By the sidewalk."

Monica Bodden
"So you don't remember anything else?"

Russell James Jr., knock down
"I don't remember anything. Right now my brain is still swollen and you can see my head side is still swollen."

Monica Bodden
"You were unconscious for how long?"

Russell James Jr., knock down
"About 5 hours."

Monica Bodden
"You know who did this to you?"

Russell James Jr., knock down
"No."

Monica Bodden
"You have no idea who did this to you?"

Russell James Jr., knock down
"I have no idea."

Monica Bodden
"You went to the police station?"

Russell James Jr., knock down
"Yes I went to the police station. I went to Queen Street Police Station yesterday and they told me to go to Raccoon Street Police Station because the policeman who came to the scene and that I am supposed to see works at the Patrol Branch, his name is Tyron Swazo. He told me that when he intervenes with this person that hit me - he told him to go his way. So that means automatically you are on his side. This person could have kill me and gotten away and still be out there killing more people which is wrong because I almost die, I was like 6 - 8 feet under this vehicle."

Monica Bodden
"Tell me a little bit about your injuries you receive to your head, where?"

Russell James Jr., knock down
"To my head, my knee, my foot here, hands, stomach and shoulder. Anyone that would want to come forward who witness this that would want to help me. That is all I got to say."

James told us he is not certain if he was knocked down intentionally.
