Eighteen Year Old Accused Of Robbing Commuters

A man accused of holding up three commuters at gunpoint as they got off at their scheduled bus stop in Mahogany Heights yesterday was charged today with 3 counts of robbery when he appeared in the number 5 Magistrate's court.

Eighteen year old Gregory Thompson, a laborer of Mahogany Heights pleaded not guilty to the charges and was remanded until January 11th because it is a firearm offence.

Also, arrested in connection with the same robbery is a 19 year old woman, Lydia Young. She was charged with handling stolen goods after she was found in possession of a cell phone stolen from one of the victims. She pleaded not guilty to the charge, was unable to post bail and remanded into custody until January 11th.

A third person arrested, a 16 year old boy, was also charged with handling stolen goods after he was found in possession of items which included cell phones and jewelry that were stolen from two other victims. The boy was arraigned today in the Belize Family Court.
