The other person who was shot in the head on New Year's Eve is 9 year old Aaron Myvett Pope.
The standard three student of Grace Primary was shot by home invaders as he slept in his mother's bed at the South End of George Street.
The killing is unexplained - and his family has flatly rejected any suggestion that it was gang related - while, in the next breath, naming and blaming a specific gang for killing the child.
Today, though, none of that finger pointing really mattered as the city's fourth child victim of gang violence in 17 months was laid to rest at a funeral at the Queen Street Baptist church. Aaron joins Marquis Mahler, Eyannie Nunez, and Joshua Abraham - all eight or nine years old.
And like those children with whom he might have someday taken the PSE, Aaron's funeral was overflowing as funeral goers poured out of the small city church - where his mother is also a teacher at the school.
Notably, very many young people were at the event. The funeral procession left the church and wound its way through the city.
