Southern Killer Charged In City

A twenty year old laborer of mile 10 on the Southern Highway has been charged with the murder of a Shrimp farmer, which took place in October of last year.

Edwin Millian was finally charged with murder, after he was brought to Belize City today for his second court appearance, because there is no Magistrate in Dangriga.

Millian appeared in the number 2 Magistrate's Court and was remanded until March 7th. The murder occurred on October 7th, 2011. The victim, 55 year old Santos Benito Elvis, a farmer employed by Paradise Shrimps was found dead on a feeder road near a Citrus farm located on the Coastal Road.

There were chop wounds to Elvis's face and other parts of his body and 4 fingers on one of his hands had been severed. Reports are that Elvis was at a local bar drinking and when he left that bar and was walking home he was ambushed and killed.
