As we told you last night, The Prime Minister has asked the Auditor General's office to investigate the affairs of the KHMH.
One thing that is sure to be reviewed is the Naitonal Referral Hospital's relationship with a particular supplier, Skilled Solutions Limited.
And, to be sure, there is a lot to investigate. First, how could the Hospital be making sizeable orders from a company located at 6710 SW 12th. Street in Pembroke Pines, Florida - which is a residential address?
And the orders were substantial. This supplies purchase order form June of 2011 is for thirty-five thousand Belize Dollars - and the matching invoice is for the equivalent in US dollars.
But it's not really a match because a detailed check of the invoice shows that a number of items - costly items were short shipped - meaning the specific quantities requested on the purchase order was not provided on the invoice, yet the total price is still the same!
In this case, four solenoid valve repair kits valued at 736 US dollar each were requested on the purchase order, but only two were listed on the invoice.
This - we are told by the whistleblower Delroy Herrera was a common practice - as were high prices form this supplier.
