And while we can assure you that we have had no physical contact with Schakron's passport - and neither have we dealt with anyone who stole it - assuming indeed that it was stolen - Schakron is saying the UDP is the culprit.
So today, for balance, we asked party leader Dean Barrow - did functionaries of his party purloin the passport?
Jules Vasquez
"Her position is that once she takes the oath of renunciation, she needs no declaration of it being renounced. It is then renounced. She is hoping, it appears, to have that done before nomination on Friday."
Dean Barrow - Leader, UDP
"I don't see that it's likely at all. From what little I have been able to glean about this issue, I would say that it's impossible, and I would think that the better course for her and the PUP is to put a candidate that does not suffer from that disability, but it's entirely a matter for them."
Jules Vasquez
"She is saying that the UDP staged the burglary of her home in which her passport was stolen."
Dean Barrow
"Hold on; I thought that she had said that it was some agent of Channel 7, or she she's saying serial things. She first accuses Channel 7, and then she accuses the UDP now. Look, this was something that was broken by Channel 7 - by Jules Vasquez - the UDP was completely ignorant of Mrs. Schakron's circumstances. So, I don't know how she will turn around now, and try to lay any blame at the door of the UDP. The circumstances in which she finds herself are factual circumstances, and what she should tell people is why she didn't disclose this to her party and to the people of Lake I. To proceed, nevertheless, not making any disclosure, to have determined not to say anything, and only to have not come forward - only to have to concede the position because she was busted by Channel 7 - strikes me as indicating that she is not necessarily the right material for candidacy."
