It happened near the Faber's Road Extension where a gunman shot him in the head - straight through his motorcycle helmet. Monica Bodden was on the scene and she tried to find out why anyone would kill the hard working 21 year old.

Here's her report:..

Monica Bodden reporting
This is where the shooting happened at the corner of Custard Apple Street and Neal's Penn Road at about 3 o'clock this afternoon.

The body of 22 year old Lerone Johnson lay dead beside his black motorcycle. The entire neighbor gathered around in groups - shaken at what had just happened.

Scenes of crime technicians searched for expended shells around the area as police officers stood guard.

Neighbors heard only 2 gunshots - One of those shots is believed to have caught Johnson behind his head while the other somewhere in his abdomen.

He died on the spot.

His co-workers and family arrived on the scene shortly after. His grieving mother had to be consoled.

The lifeless body of 22 year old Johnson was picked up by police - put into this police pick-up truck and taken away to the morgue.

Voice of: Neighbor
"Earlier at about 45 minutes now, I heard 2 gunshots. We didn't come out because we aren't familiar with those types of problems back here. One of my nieces then came out, and she asked where her son was because he was flying a kite earlier. So I told her that I didn't know where he is, but I sent him home, so she came all the way here, and she shouted for me from my house. She told me to come out, and I asked for what. She told me that it was about the gunshots, but I told her that if it is about that, we would then see the police. We did hear that and the ambulance, but when we got out here, I met her with the police officers, and I asked what happened. She told me there was a guy down here by his bike, and that she saw him, but I thought he was fixing his bike. She came back and she said that he was still in the same position. She checked again, and I don't know how the police got here."

22 year old Leron Johnson is an employee of cavetubing.com. He was on his way to run an errant for his job when his was targeted. Many believed that Johnson may have picked up someone on his bike who in returned held him up, took his life and robbed him.

Lionel Gillharry - Co-worker
"We are working from 3 o'clock in the morning, especially on Mondays, and we're still working until this happened."

Monica Bodden
"So, he was still on working when this incident happened."

Lionel Gillharry
"Yes."

Monica Bodden
"Do you think that he was robbed?"

Lionel Gillharry
"I know that he was robbed. This was a set up. Some kind of way, something happened; I don't know. People see us, and they are lazy. They don't want to go and work. We are hard-working and we don't mess with anyone before. I don't know."

And for his grieving mother - she is still lost for words.

Mother of Deceased
"I checked the time but I guess that it was around 3 o'clock to 3:30, and my friend, who works at the YMCA Ms. Perdita Cadle, she called us, and told me that she heard that my son got knocked down. I put down the phone, and I decided to call his cell phone, and I got no answer. So my friend called me back, and I told her that I still hadn't gotten him. She said that she would call a friend, and when I finally found out where he was, I came here and saw the police, I already figured that this is what happened to my son, my loving son. My son doesn't deserve this kind of death because my son is not a gang boy. My son was from work to home. He is a dedicated son who works - he leaves at 4 o'clock and at 5 in the evening, he is at home. The police say that it's a robbery because they didn't find any money. His pockets were also out."

Monica Bodden
"If you could say one thing to that person who did that to your son, as a mother, what would you say?"

Mother of the Deceased
"Well, I know about the Word of God, and I'll have to be strong in the word. He sees everything. Judgment will come, but I just wish the law gives us justice for this."
