As we've reported, the containers were supposed to contain fertilizer - but it turns out they had something else inside: precursor chemicals that could be used for the production of the drug called Crystal Meth - how much Crystal Meth? According to US authorities: 10 Billion Dollars Worth.

Cuthkelvin managed to avoid being charged for making a false declaration - by stating that they sent him the wrong chemical.

Add in a few tens of thousands of dollars lost in product and shipping costs - and that, publicly, was the end of it for him. But then, the very valuable containers full of precursors remained on the customs compound.

US authorities remained most interested in their destruction - and along with customs, they arranged an operation to destroy the chemicals.

That process - which was conducted at a secret location - involved burying the contents of all six containers plus one more which was not claimed. That's over three thousand sacks buried in two huge holes - and then mixed with water - thereby destroying the chemicals which are al soluble.

The process started yesterday when four containers were destroyed and continued today when the last three were finished off.
