Another Suspect Passport Under Investigation
posted (September 20, 2012)
The police and immigration department are investigating another case of a suspect passport being issued.

The name of the passport holder is Fidel Garcia - who got his passport in two days, September 6th and 7th., 2012.

It has raised suspicion because the name sounds like that of a Belizean of Hispanic descent - but the picture on the passport is of a man who appears to be of middle eastern descent.

And the address on the passport is for 90 Barrack Road - which is a Lebanese business place and residence. But in this case, police have managed to find the application form and other relevant documents and are investigating to find this person - but it is believed that he may have left the country.

Turning now to the other case of Immigration fraud. The Americans have said nothing about Rafic Labboun - but we do know Belize police are questioning Wilhelm Dyck's little brother - who allegedly provided information to interested parties about his deceased elder brother.

And what about the man Labboun was caught with, Yasser Safa? Today's Amandala reports that Samer Yousuff Safa is being held as part of an investigation probe in Mexico and will be handed over to Belizean authorities when they are done.

Additionally, the paper reports that Yasser Safa is also wanted by Mexican authorities who have put out an all-points bulletin for him. Of course as we reported last week, Yasser Safa changed his name to Tayssir Iid Saad in 2007 when he made it back to Belize after being busted in Panama with drugs in 2007. This is the Belizean social security card he got in 2008 - he also got not one, but two passports in that name. Oh and did we mention that in 2008 - our sources tell us he had at least four gun licenses issued in his name? No doubt, he's a very special guy and how he got back to Yasser Safa with the Mexican authorities is a story that is surely yet to be told.

We'll keep following it though.
