Last week, we told you about 29 year-old Wellington Hemsley Jr. who was shot to death by a security guard between miles 30 and 31 on the Western Highway.
We've showed you the version of the Security guard, who said that he and his associate shot both Wellington Hemsley and his 53 year-old uncle Gilroy Welcome Sr. because they were trying to burglarize a property which they were guarding.
The security guards told police that they fired warnings and they only opened fire on the men when they attacked and tried to take away their weapons.
Well, the Hemsley family isn't accepting this version of events, and they say Wellington Hemsley was shot on the road by the trigger happy guards, who then tried to cover up the murder by taking his body unto the compound.
They're also saying that no burglary occurred.
We spoke to Hemsley's mother today, and here's what she said that her brother, Gilroy Welcome Sr. told her:

"I understand that my son - they shoot him on the roadside and then they took him into the property. The two security guards back him; one held him by two hands and the other held him on his two feet and carry him and put him inside the property that they were watching."

"Ma'am the first important question that I must ask you is that we went to the location and we saw what seems to be a bloodspot on the property itself and we also surveyed as much as we could under the circumstances and we didn't see any evidence to support the version you are saying. How exactly do you guys come up with this conclusion?"

"My other two sons went to the hospital and spoke to the uncle and the uncle told them that they were at the roadside when my son took out his cell phone to dial on the cell phone and at the same time the security came and shoot him. After they shot him, my son told the security; 'balli, why yu shot me and I didn't do you nothing,' and that was it. After he told the security that - he was on the found and he asked my brother to take him to the hospital. My brother told him that he didn't have any transport. He was on the ground about hour and a half and he told him 'my uncle, I am going to die' and he went and he said that after he died they took him into the compound. One of the security guard held his two hands and the other held his two feet and they back him and turn him on his face against a van."
"All I want to do is to fight for justice for my son. I will not leave it at that."

"Ma'am, it's tough - we must ask these tough questions; there is still a very big gaping hole in that version of events. Its late in the night, I am not so sure what the exact time is. What was your son and your brother doing is that area if they are saying that they didn't go there to burglarize this property?"

Gilroy Welcome has had 3 surgeries on his arm to treat the gunshot wound is currently facing a risk of amputation because his injury is not healing well.
He remains in the hospital under police guard.
