When we left you last night, business owner Yhony Rosado was spending his first night in jail, remanded on a firearm offence. Bail for those offences can only be gotten from the Supreme Court and only on Friday's.
But his attorney Kareem Musa put in the application for bail yesterday - and managed to get a bail hearing today. The DPP's office had no objection and so Rosado managed to get out of ail in a little over 24 hours.
That's not bad at all considering he was charged with pulling a firearm on a business rival's son. When he got out, he came to 7news and told us what it was like:..

"You see it from other stories and movies and when it happens to you, you cannot really believe it. I was sleeping after work on Wednesday, so Thursday morning I was getting up as usual, I picked up my kids to take them to school and about 6:30 in the morning I saw the police ran in the house like I was some type of criminal, I ask him how can I help and the officer say to me that he was looking for Yhony Rosado. I told him that I am here sir. The officer told me to come out6 of the house and I say to him just let me get the keys to open the door because I have a burglar bar door. I came out of the house and they ask me if I had any firearm and I gave them my firearm. They already took one in a previous arrest and this now this other one."
"No questions were ask, they say let's go with us. They took me to Belmopan, I realize that it was the same old complaint about 3 months ago. They were charging me aggravated assault with a firearm. I was very shocked because that was chapter was over about two months ago through the members of the tourism village and tour operators and FECTAB. I was very surprise being arrested for that same complaint."
"I have been profile at Belmopan Police Station so they already have me as some type of criminal there and I've been profile at Kolbe Foundation. I feel so low to be such a hard working citizen of this country. I feel broken hearted, I am just shocked and I already confirm that I did not do it. I had witnesses with me on that day, there was a van full of us and they already gave statements - I was not by myself. This is not a case where I said something against you - or word against word - we had witnesses. These people were drinking on the day before and they made these statements the following day. The police should have taken that into serious consideration because whenever somebody assaults our life - the first thing to do is call the police immediately, you don't wait 24 hours to make a report unless you are doing it maliciously. I have never done it; I have never put my firearm on someone's head. Even though it's a serious charge because of the new law but I am not afraid of it because I know I am going come victorious. I have moved from beside them, I have no communication with them. They are the ones sending me texts that I am going to jail. I went jail, I am still out here innocently and it's just the law that people are abusing. today you could be out here interviewing me, if you go out there tonight and somebody complain that you took out a black object similar to a gun, you are going to be arrested just like Yhony Rosado. It's just the law that people use to their advantage."
Rosado has to re-appear in court on March 14th.
