There was a fatal traffic accident on New Year's Eve in Dangriga Town. It happened at 7:00 in the evening between Miles 1 and 2 on George Price Drive, where a motorbike collided into a James Bus.
The bus driver Earl Sanchez Sr. stopped to let out two female passengers. One of them asked him to wait for her as she ran to give a package to a man on the opposite side of the road. While waiting, 28 yar old Winfield Duran, a fisherman of Sarawee Village ran into the back of the bus. He recived major head injuries and died on the spot.
