But on Saturday night, Harris was just going home - when a gunman waylaid him and shot up his car. It happened at mile 3 on the Western Highway and 7news was there - along with traffic that was blocked up for miles. Here's how it looked:..

When we arrived at mile three on the Western Highway at 8:45, it was closed off, so that police could process the crime scene of the 3rd murder in less than 18 hours.

That scene was an emotional one where his friends howled in angry disbelief, and his sister's screeching wail left her doubled over in pain. That tells the story best of the loss they were experiencing.

And while a friend held her, it was too much and she collapsed unto the pavement - fainted, overwhelmed by the knowledge that her brother had been killed.

33 year-old Marlon Harris lay dead in his vehicle - which had run off the road into a huge ditch. That's where his life ended after being shot multiple times.

The holes in the driver's side door tell the story of a gunman who was waiting for him to drive past. Police say he had been shot multiple times:

"Seated on the driver's seat was the motionless body of Marlon Danny Harris, 33yrs, Belizean Labourer of #7632 Lionel Tillett Street, Belize City with apparent gunshot wounds to the Abdomen (left and right side of the abdomen)."

Those who were the first to come on the scene told the family that they found him still gasping for breath - a detail which has incensed the family.

Harris had just left his baby's mother's house in the Lake Independence area, and he was heading home while the gunman laid in wait:

But will police find the shooter, who did the deed in such a remote area? Police say that they currently have no clues.

"At this time there is no tangible evidence, but are working on that murder as well. We have no lead at this time as it relate to that murder."

Meanwhile, his friends and family say that while he had his run-ins with the law, he was no killer and didn't deserve this end.

"I don't know him as a gunman. I don't know what he does out there, as far as I know I know he did not shoot or kill anyone. He might have hang out with people who have shoot or kill whosoever I don't know, that is not my business but he wasn't a gunman."

Harris was the father of 2 children: 1 year-old and 11 years-old. His family flatly denied comment today.

It is of note that Harris had been known to associate with Giovanni "Nose" Luriano - who was killed in similar fashion in 2010 - when he car was attacked while he was driving on the Western Highway.
