Home Invasion Terror In Tiny Boston Village
posted (February 6, 2013)
The residents of tiny Boston Village on the Old Northern Highway, are trying to recover from a frightening home invasion which occurred late Sunday night.

At around 10:00 p.m., 3 armed masked men invaded the home of 34 year-old Russian National Andrey Borisov who was entertaining 6 guests at his farm.

The men ordered the guests, who included females, to undress at gunpoint, and they took Borisov upstairs flat of his house, where they robbed him of a sling purse which contained an undisclosed amount of cash in US, Belize, and Mexican currencies.

Before the men left, they reportedly sexually assaulted the females, after which they escaped into the darkness of night.

Police are investigating, but Borisov, his wife and their child are now traumatized. Borisov's wife had a small business in which she provided lodging and small tours for her guests.

The family has been living in the village for just over a year, but because they've been targeted in this fashion, they've decided to move out of the village post-haste.

7News travelled to the village and tried to speak with them, but they declined saying that they are fearful for their lives. We did speak to one resident who's outraged by the incident. Here's what she told us, along with police's investigation at this point.

Assistant Supt. Christopher Noble - Rural Executive Officer
"We had a report on Sunday night. We looked into the report, and several persons - to name exactly, 7 - were assaulted. After the assault, some valuables were taken, and the information we have is that there were several persons who committed the assaults, and we're looking into the investigation as it is."

Elida Canton - Alvarado - Boston Resident
"I've lived in Boston Village for 33 years, and this village has been a safe, family-oriented, together village, and when I heard the news on Monday, I still feel like something hit me in my heart because these people, they come here. They start out this life on their own; they've moved from bushes to something great, and then for this tragic thing to just come and traumatize them, this is foolishness. As you can see, the trailer is here. My brother is here; my brother is here. They're going to move, store their stuff in a container, and then they're going to find somewhere safe to stay until they can probably go back to their country. I can't say what they're going to do. All I know is that we've lost a very good, hardworking family out of our village. And right now, I am really hurt for them, and I don't like what's happened."

Assistant Superintendent Chris Noble "Persons of interest are being looked at, and the investigation continues."

Police say that they have persons of interest who they are looking for.
