He may be a two term City Councilor, but this weekend Roger Espejo was just another victim of street crime. Around 7 o'clock on Sunday evening, Espejo and a friend were near Rock Park when 6 men on bicycles rolled up on them.
Espejo told police that one of them had his hand under his shirt and told him to quote, "run weh yu got". Espejo said he feared that the man had a gun and he remained still. The man then proceeded to snatch Espejo's fashion chain valued at fifty dollars. The group then rode off down Princess Margaret Drive. Espejo chased after them and managed to catch one of the males who had robbed him and took him to the Queen Street Police Station.
Turns out he was just a minor, and police tracked down another in the group. On Tuesday 2 minors were arraigned for Robbery and Conspiracy to commit Robbery. Police are seeking another from the group as investigations continue.
