Ras Indio In Adis Ababa
posted (April 25, 2013)
The well-travelled Ras Indio has recently been out of the country performing around the world, and most recently, he took a trip to several different countries on the African continent.

And he's featuring some of those trips in a photo-collage put together in a calendar for 2013. Now, you might be wondering, like us, about why he's promoting a calendar for 2013, when we're already into the second quarter of the year.

He explained why it's late, and why you should support him by buying one of his calendars.

Ras lndio - Artist
"The Calendars are a little late this year. This is the first year that we've ever had a calendar. This is why we continue with the idea of going through with this. It is ready from August last year but the orders we made were only in a quantities of a hundred, we didn't get a bulk. What happened then I went to Africa, Ethiopia and Egypt to rejuvenate myself. It wasn't a concert, I just went to feel some 'vibes' and I've sung about Shashamane and Ethiopia all my life so it was a blessing to actually go and see the things I sing about. So that is why the Calendars are late because I was in Ethiopia for a month and a half and I didn't make it back to Belize until three weeks ago. The Calendar is mainly my history. All the work I have done as a musician, as an artist representing our country abroad. It's filled with many flyers of shows I've done in the past like Lucky Dube and The Wailers and other big artists around the world. It is also filled with pictures me and some of these artists. Sometimes people like to hang things on their walls and in their bedroom for example a poster of Movado, now you have a picture to hang up, Ras Indio"

Ras Indio will be selling the calendars at the Agricultural fair, to be held on May 3, 4 and 5. Ras Indio is also set to perform at 2 major concerts in the US called Reggae on the River, and the Sacramento One Love Festival, later on in the year.
