“Bullett” Craig Got His Car Back Faster Than A Speeding…
posted (September 3, 2013)
Tonight, well known taxi driver and Belize City character, Roy "Bullet" Craig, is fortunate to have his gold Saturn taxi car after it was stolen from him on Sunday evening.

The senior citizen is an avid follower of the carnival mas camps and on Sunday he got out of his car to look at some camp practice. Not expecting anything to happen, he left it unattended for a short while before someone grabbed his key, which was on his dash board, and drove off.

After a day of fretting, police found the car yesterday. He told us today how the police found it, and why he believes that the thief intended to scrap it:

Roy 'Bullet' Craig - Taxi Car was stolen
"I was on the next avenue and Euphrates Avenue where the kids were practicing carnival, I dance carnival and I was trying to entertain the children and I parked my car where I could have seen it, I did not leave the key in the ignition - I left it in between the meters on top over the wheel. While I was dancing, I kept looking back and I saw my car, it was about 4 or 5 times I turned and I saw my car but the last time when I didn't see the taxi sign on top of the car - I looked back and I didn't see my car, it was gone. About two minutes later, the police officers passed and I reported the whole thing. Then the police called me and told me that they located my car and when the officer took me to the location, way back in Dala Bank Road is immediately in Hattieville - the road going to the river side, luckily that the police moved fast. If the police didn't move fast, from what I could see - they disassembled all the parts in the car, they were ready to disassemble the motor, radio, alternator, battery and things were still in there but I could see where they moved all the wires - they were going to make the move to scrap the car."

According to Craig, all the items which could have easily identified the car as his were removed.
