President of the University of Belize, Dr. Cary Fraser has written to the Prime Minister to say he is resigning and plans to leave at the end of the year. Today, Fraser sent out a mail, which doesn't say much other than disclosing the terms of his contract. He refers to, quote, "recent rumours and reports in certain sections of the media," and discloses that he has a 5 year contract which commenced in August of 2011. He lists the termination clauses in his contract – which are pretty standard and then goes on to say, obliquely, quote, "I have written to the Prime Minister to clarify certain issues with him and will seek a meeting with him upon his return."
He didn't mention the Chair of the board of trustees who has announced that he is having a press conference tomorrow.
