Belize City Man Found Stabbed To Death

In Belize City, the first man to lose his life to violence this weekend was 22 year-old Samuel Steven Miguel, a resident of West Street.

Residents woke up sometime after 5 o'clock on Saturday morning, and they his body in a parking lot off Cemetery Road, right next to Magic Fingers - which is opposite to the Raymond Parks Homeless Shelter. Steven Miguel was only his boxer briefs, and he had stab wounds to his head.

Police from precinct 1 are trying figure out who killed him, and why. Today, they explained what they found on the scene:

"On Saturday 28th June 2014 at 5:55am CIB personnel visited a open parking lot in front of the Raymond Parks Homeless Shelter where they observed a dark male person with apparent stab wounds to the head and right side of his face. The body was later identified as Samuel Steven Miguel, a 22 year old Belizean of #157 Far West Street."

"Can you give us information as to what you guys have been able to find out, how this gentleman was stabbed and killed?"

"At this time the police have detained two persons and are investigation the matter and at this point I do not want to mention any name because the investigation - we have a lead and may lead to some arrest."

Police say that they believe he was last seen in the company of 2 women.
