Happiness Can Be A Breath Away
posted (July 4, 2014)
What is happiness? Who defines it - and what is they key to it? These are questions that have baffled philosophers throughout the

ages, but one consultant believes he has the answer. That's right, Adrian McInman is a happiness consultant and he has been in Belize for a week talking to police, BERT, and the Ministry of Health. We caught him at a session today, and he gave us a happiness quick fix - after we were told about his session with health collaborators:..

Eleanor Bennett, Nursing Administrator - Mental Health
"We thought about having these people here because the message from Mr. McInman is simple; the happier you are, the better you do and we just wanted to share this message with as many people as possible. He was with the Ministry of Health in Belmopan and we had like over 50 people there, he was with other health people here and so we thought about extending this to the collaborators."

Adrian McInman
"Sixty seconds of breathing changes your disposition. Does breathing cost you anything? Even in the poorest country, even in say Haiti, you can breathe and it doesn't cost you anything. Some of the things that make the biggest impact on your happiness are things like "ness" and "noise" - nutrition, exercise, sleep and social support. There are so many benefits you get by being happy. All it takes is for somebody to smile at you and you are more likely to pick up paper that somebody drops. All somebody has to do is get you to think happy thoughts for 300 seconds and you are more likely to donate blood. You have a shortage of blood in this country and hospitals. If everybody just have happy thoughts for 5 minutes - it's amazing that they are more likely to donate their blood. I mean it's so cheap, it's so effective and it's so easy."

McInman heads to Jamaica when he is done in Belize.
