He waited long enough and now Deon Ras Pitta is a trustee on the Christian Workers Union Executive. Elections were held on Saturday and Ras Pitta got 74 votes to his opponent Maureen Reyes's 49 votes. Pitta is now the third trustee after a tied vote in December left the seat unoccupied.
A team from the NTUCB conducted the election - which was only made possible after the CWU was re-admitted to the union umbrella group two weeks ago.
