Will The Rosado Foundation Keep Donor Confidence?
posted (July 18, 2014)
But with all that has been discussed, it begs the question, how much damage has been done to the good work of the Foundation so far?

It was created with a purpose of goodwill, and good intentions, but the funding depends heavily on the perception of accountability of the public's money which has been donated to do its work.

Sanchez says that he held his silence because he knew what it could mean for the foundation:

Bruce Sanchez Sr. - Defendants In Memorial Foundation Claim
"It's not because I don't want to sign. You guys have a right to find out when he says 'he doesn't want to sign cheques' then the next question would be why. So let's find Mr. Sanchez and find out why he doesn't want to sign cheques. There i definitely a good reason why he doesn't want to sign cheques. I didn't want to do this because I know the damage that this could cause. I know the damage that this would caused and that's why I try to hold it back as much as possible, but I have to defend myself when you are dealing with people like this. He is crazy to even think about talking to the media or go to court when then all of this is his fault. It's not mine, I didn't do anything wrong - nothing. I wanted this to run right and I ended up being taken to court because I wanted this to run right. That's a crazy guy we are dealing with."

While Sanchez, Rosado, and the Board can't agree on the means by which Dr. Rosado has done the work of the organization, they do agree that there is no going back after what has been said on both sides:

Sal Awe - Secretary, Ariel Rosado Foundation Board
"We all volunteer our time. All of us are all very people. We volunteered to bring a positive thing to the country; we are providing scholarships to under privilege children. We are supporting other like-minded organizations. We've done a lot of good and really something like this, just the perception of any kind of financial impropriety does us no good and its really unfortunate that it has come to this. This organization has a lot of potential, we are doing a lot of good and we want to continue to do so and unfortunately this event is going to hurt us."

Perry Gibson - Founding Board Member
"The work goes on, the recipients continue to receive the much needed aid because I mean the scholarships that have been provided I think it's over 30 at this point, so that's speaks for itself. That is all they do - providing needed people with assistance."

The Board members and the Rosados have staked their reputation that everything done so far with the money has passed auditing by an independent firm. The Board says that it is fully behind the decisions of Dr. Rosado, who has done the work of Foundation in the memory of the late Ariel Rosado. This case continues before Justice Courtney Abel.
