posted (July 23, 2014)

Last night we told you how 8 persons who were in a yard at 3150 Supal Street were charged for drug trafficking after police say they found three bags of crack cocaine in the yard.

All eight were detained and arraigned late yesterday â€“ including the 71 year old matriarch Marion Plunkett.  Now, a 71 year old charged for crack possession with an intent to supply?  That's a first!  So today Monica Bodden went to the yard on Supal Street to talk to Marion Plunkett about the charge:

Monica Bodden
"You are charged with possession of a controlled drug with the intent to supply to another. I'm guessing this is your first charge, how old are you ma'am?"

"He told me come see what they found, because I don't want you to say you don't know about it. So I tell them; Big man whatever you see and picked up from there, you came and put it there because my mom get up from 5 o'clock in the morning and rake up this yard, come on. We are big people, we don't sell crack."

"I said officer, I'm telling you again, you don't even have to search my house, nothing is in here, I'm sure nothing is in here. Miss you see where I live, why would I be back there, I don't live back there? I don't even go back there, only when dirt comes Tuesday and Friday I clean my yard. You know what the police tell me, I over looked that, they said it was cocaine I said I don't know because I don't smoke or drink so I don't know. All I saw was a little plastic clamped down."

Raymond Alvarez
"The way how they came put this, it's like out of badness they just seem to come disrespect the whole family, that we are on big screen, national TV to make people see what is going on with us. We don't sell drugs, we don't operate so, we wouldn't have our stuff careless on the ground, and children has to pass the neighbourhood beside the house. Come on, we are bigger than that. It came in a zip-lock bag, everything came brown, pieces of things they cut up and put in the bag, we wouldn't have our things like that if we had crack, we don't sell crack."

"Miss lady from I was born, see one of my sons there. I don't even drink, the only thing I drink is a Fanta not even a whole one. The police said we lucky that they didn't plant 3 bullets because they could have dropped one here, one there and one the other side. So I told him you could have done anything. I said next time when you come, bring a gun. In the station now, they want to take everybody as pappy-show. You got tattoo, what is the nickname that they call you. I told them they call me old …, that is the nickname they call me. He said where is your tattoo. I said come look for it, I don't have no tattoo. I will fight against them for this, this is not fair; Why would they bring things and drop it in your place."
The crack cocaine weighed in at 6.5 grammes.
