33 year-old Theodore Swazo, a resident of Vernon Street, was sentenced 3 months in prison today after he was found guilty of drug possession in the Magistrate Court.
2 members of the Gang Suppression Unit testified in his trial before the Chief Magistrate that on February 17, they saw him come out of a yard on Iguana Street. When he saw the officers, he tried to throw away a small amount of weed, which they retrieved. It was only 3 grams, and so they charged him with drug possession.
After hearing all the evidence, Chief Magistrate Smith found him guilty and sentenced him to 3 months in jail.
