Agripina’s Killer Charged
posted (October 10, 2014)
Tonight, a family from Cristo Rey, Corozal is preparing to bury their loved one, 63 year-old Anita Che, after finding her decomposing body in a cane field just off the Cristo Rey/Yo Chen Road.

The senior citizen had not been seen 10 days after she told her family on last week Tuesday that she was going to the Corozal Community Hospital and then to Belmopan. Police from Corozal began searching for her, and based on information, they went to a cane field located near to the Intelco Tower, some 200 yards off the main road. Her body was in an advanced state of decomposition, and a post-mortem found that she died from heart problems. At this time, police don't suspect foul-play and there were no physical signs of violence.

In Toledo however, the case of 61 year-old Agripina Coc, who was the victim of a savage rape and murder in San Pedro Colombia, has progressed finally. The main suspect, 24 year-old Miguel Choco, has finally been formally arrested and charged with murder.

As we told you, Coc was killed on Saturday, August 30. She was found several hours after she left her house to visit a family member and then to pick up some groceries from a nearby shop. She warned her family days before that she had seen a strange young man monitoring her. Her disturbing murder stirred the rest of her community to action and they took the law into their own hands.

Viewers may remember that they detained the family of the man who they believed to be the culprit. The villagers also formed up search parties to look for Choco, believing that the police would not be able to locate him, since he was hiding in the bushes. The caught him several days later and detained him until police arrived and took him into custody. On Wednesday, October 8, more than a month later, police finally arrested and charged him for Coc's murder.
