posted (October 28, 2014)
Contracts were signed yesterday in Belmopan for major road works in Belize City and Punta Gorda. 5 miles of the Old Northern highway will be paved with hot mix by RODLA Construction for 3.4 million dollars.

Then, a four-leg roundabout will be constructed at the intersection of the George Price Highway, Faber's Road and Lake Independence Boulevard. That's to make way for traffic coming off the southern end of the New Chetumal Street Bridge. A similar 150 foot reinforced concrete roundabout will be placed on the Phillips Goldson highway to regulate traffic on the northern side of the bridge, at the intersection with Chetumal Street. This will be done by CISCO construction for 3.6 million dollars.

Also in Belize City, the parking area for Sir Charles Bartlett Hyde building will be rehabilitated by M and R construction for three hundred thousand dollars.

And, in the South, Olivia Sentino and Cayo Streets in Punta Gorda as well as Ramos Road and a section of Ecumenical Drive in Dangriga will be concreted. Both will be done by CISCO construction for a combined cost of a little over 1.4 million dollars.

All told the various contracts add up to 9 million dollars and are expected to be completed in 5 months.
