The by-election in Cayo North will be held on Monday January 5th. And while opponents Richard Harrison and Omar Figueroa and their retinue will be riled up and rolling out major political machinery, many students will be taking that opportunity to enjoy one more day on the Christmas holiday.
That's because many primary, pre-primary and secondary schools in San Ignacio, Santa Elena and Bullet Tree Falls Village will be closed on by-election day. The primary and pre-primary schools include: Santa Elena R.C School, Eden SDA Primary, Santa Elena Baptist School, Faith Nazarene in San Ignacio, Bishop Martin R.C, St. Andrews Anglican, Sacred Heart Primary, Arms of Love pre and a primary school, Bullet Tree SDA Primary, Immaculate Conception R.C Primary, all pre-schools in Santa Elena, San Ignacio and Bullet Tree. The secondary schools include Sacred Heart College, St. Ignatius High School, Eden SDA High School and Cayo Center for Employment Training.
