Remand For Man Accused of Stabbing

26 year-old Musa Smith, a resident of Kraal Road, is spending his second night in jail after being accused of stabbing a man.

The incident happened on Sunday, December 21, and according to the victim, 28 year-old Tyron Scott, he left his home on Unity Street and went to his friend's house to drop of some school books. He says that while he was there, he encountered Smith who pulled a knife and stabbed him in the middle of his back and upper shoulder for no apparent reason.

Police investigated and arrested and charged Smith with attempted murder, use of deadly means of harm and dangerous harm. Due to the nature of the offences, he couldn't be granted bail, and he was remanded to the Belize Central Prison until February 16, 2015.
