Malaria Meeting MDG’s
posted (January 13, 2015)
There were only 17 cases of malaria in southern Belize in 2014. That's part of a national trend where incidences have gone down by 98% - since the year two thousand - when 1486 cases were reported, compared to just 26 in 2013.

Still, vigilance remains a priority, and the Southern Region of the Ministry of Health has added two Mahindra pickup trucks to its fleet.

The new vehicles will be used by the Vector Control Program to focus on a few communities where the disease is concentrated.
