Hon. Hulse: Former CEO Saldivar’s A Model Leader
posted (June 10, 2015)

For 3 weeks now, we've been hearing that Candelaria Saldivar, relative to Police Minister John Saldivar, has been removed as the CEO of the Ministry of Immigration and Nationality, Local Government, NEMO, and Rural Development. Suggestions all have been that she was either not performing up to standards, or that some unethical behaviour occurred.

Today, we got a chance to clear that up with her former Minister, Godwin Hulse, he told us that no such thing has occurred. She is simply being moved to another ministry:

Hon. Godwin Hulse - Minister of Labour

"If you look in the system since 2012, we've moved around 6 CEO's, so it's not the first time that a CEO has been moved. Actually when you administrative leave it's not suspension at all, it's because they're going to place her in another area. And so this is basically what it is. Mr. Zuniga who was our liaison officer has been moved to be acting as CEO and Mrs. Candelaria who did an excellent job is going to be placed in another ministry at another spot."

"So she was not suspended, that was the clarification? She was was simply moved to another area."

Hon. Godwin Hulse - Minister of Labour

"Absolutely, no suspension, no even thought of that, there was nothing wrong she did. So I wanted to clear that up. The lady did an excellent job but we always do this. People are shuffled around. In fact, one of the classic examples was CEO Rosado who was the CEO in the ministry of foreign affairs sent to Guatemala as ambassador and one would say the ambassador is below CEO - so that could not be seen as a demotion, he did an excellent job - it's just a transfer to another area where he could be more effective."
