Shane Moody: Staying Professional Football Fit
posted (June 10, 2015)

As we told you earlier Shane Moody Orio will start in goal tomorrow. It's a change of direction for the team which and been relaying almost exclusively on Woodrow West. But tomorrow it will be Shane in goal – and he told us he is ready, and he is humble:..

Shane Moody Orio - Goalkeeper

"For me it's a big responsibility. The coaching staff, the team and the whole country is behind us. Again, it's an important game tomorrow. Like I said back in Belize, we have to be ready and expect every and anything. For example the pitch today, when we say the pitch was like very discouraging. But again, both teams will be playing on the same pitch. It's not something like they will be playing on a very good pitch and we won't. So, again we need to adapt to the bitch and go out and do our best."

Jules Vasquez

"Now, I speaking to assistant coach Slusher, I said - you are an ageless wonder because as you get older you are refining your craft. How is that you've manage to stay at the top of your game and even enhanced your game - in sports, advanced age?"

Shane Moody Orio

"Well for me the most important thing is hard work. I've always been some that have always put in the work. A part from that, thank god everything has went well. It's hard work, dedication and I've always given my best. Again, tomorrow won't be the exception. We have no idea the kind of team we are facing but at the end of the day we need to be cautious and we need to be smart and intelligent."

Jules Vasquez

"How are things between you and West with the knowledge now that you are starting? He's an all-star, he has so many caps, played in international matches, everybody wants to start. I know he looks to you as a mentor, I saw you working with him today. How you smoothing that out?"

Shane Moody Orio

"From day one and I think West understands it and people back home need to understand. In day one the person that gave West his opportunity to play was me in Panama. I told the coach that it was time for West to start playing. So, there's no problem on my behalf. Again, like you said, each and every player wants to play, each and every player wants to go out and represent our country. As for goalkeepers, it's very difficult because we cannot change, it's not like an outside player and rest of ten players. But again, West will be starting on Sunday, so at the end of the day, I know he will be supporting me 110% and not only me but supporting the team and our country - and myself on Sunday when I sit on the bench and I'll support him, support the team, support the country 110%. So there's no problem, there's nothing to worry about. Both of us are professionals and we know how to deal with the situation."

Moody plays professionally in Guatemala Susi-che-pe-ke. As you heard him say, Woodrow West will start on Sunday.
