The PUP is on the ground in Dangriga town – and has been since Sunday. That's what Leader of the opposition Francis Fonseca told us today via text message today when we requested an interview.
After making an assessment of whether it would contest the seat, the party is now throwing its energetic support behind candidate Anthony Sabal – who, last we checked, had not been officially endorsed as Standard Bearer.
Presumably that will happen sometime soon, but right now the Opposition has to try and recover ground that was lost, first, with the divisive departure of former area representative Ivan Ramos, and , second, with the delay in the commencement of a campaign that started seven days late.
The PUP will now have to play catch up with the UDP which deployed to the area last week Monday.
