Diabetes Association Gets Needed Help
posted (August 5, 2015)

According to statistics from the Belize Diabetes Association, approximately 50,000 Belizeans are currently living with diabetes. That's almost 14% of the population. So the association has its work cut out for it - and that's why they are grateful for a very huge helping hand from abroad. The Association President attended a diabetes conference in New York not long ago, where he met the principals from the overseas agent called Insulin for Life.

Insulin for Life committed to provide them with a large stock insulin and other supplies such as syringes, and blood testing supplies. The trouble is that with all this insulin, the Association needed to keep them refrigerated. That's when they decided to approach Tropigas for a refrigerator as a donation, and was surprised when they got a little more than they asked for. 7News stopped by the handing over today, and found out how the Association was pleasantly surprised at the generosity of the company.

The value of this donation is just over 3 thousand dollars, and the company will be making more donations to them over the next few months. Insulin for Life, will be providing the Association with a replenished stock of insulin every 3 months, putting that refrigerator to very good use.
