WRH Vendors Doing Ok, But Want Better
posted (November 11, 2015)

Apart from the renovations, another issue on the hospital grounds was the vendors. They were removed from the premises and forced to sell outside the compound. Well, when we spoke to one of the vendors today he told us that business is going very well but that he and all the vendors would still prefer to be back on the compound.

Russell Arnold Jr. - Vendor

"It's about 2 months now since we are out there from inside to outside the hospital and business still going on, it's not bad. People still come in and buy because they see us coming out every day. It's raining, right now I'm filling up and we are not giving up, we are coming out every day and city council come and when I went to them they gave us a letter to move but since 2 months ago they didn't move us. They told us fill the spot and we can stay until they can give us help back inside."

"So it's a bit more now?"

Russell Arnold Jr. - Vendor

"We can't complain, so maybe what we no make from inside people that come to the hospital we make from people that going to work in the morning time; so it isn't bad. We still would like help to get back inside and when they are going to take us, how long it is going to take to get us back inside. With a stall it will be better because when it rain, every day I got to put on rubber boots, its hard right. And how the road is, people think how they can come buy because the whole area is muddy when it rains."

When we spoke to the Regional Manager at the Western Regional Hospital, she told us that they will meet with the vendors and the city council to arrange where the vendors will be stationed.
