Tomorrow, the National assembly will meet for the first time since the election 8 days ago. That's when all the new members will take their oaths. You already know about the 31 members of the House of Representatives, but the Senate is not so clear. The UDP has named its 6 members Godwin Hulse, Carla Barnett, Steve Duncan, Aldo Salazar, Francine Burns and Macario Coy. While the PUP will stay with its three Senators from the last term until a new leader is elected; they are: Lisa Shoman, Anthony Sylvestre and Jason Patrick Andrews.
The Belize Council of Churches will have a new Senator and he is Baptist Reverend Ashley Rocke. The business sector will have the same Senator and he is Mark Lizarraga. The National Trade Union Congress and the Civil Society steering committee have not yet decided on their senator.
