Police had to intervene at a primary school yesterday morning when a 9 year old wanted to take his own life. A police report says that the standard 3 student was attempting to jump off the school verandah. The child told his teacher that he was hearing voices telling him to jump off the verandah and walk in the middle of the street so a vehicle can knock him down.
Police report that he was taken to the Cleopatra White Polyclinic accompanied by his grandmother and the school counselor where he was evaluated by a Mental Health professional. So as not to bring attention to the child, we cannot report the name of the school.
