The body of an unidentified Hispanic male was found in the area of Spanish Lookout last night. The decomposed body was not far from the Iguana Creek Bridge – and the man – who only had on underwear – appears to have been chopped to death. Police say the victim – who is being classed as a John Doe – had been chopped to the head; three gashes were seen at the left side of his head by his ear. An onside post mortem placed the time of death sometime earlier this week. But, because of the decomposition, he had to be buried immediately – and that was done in the Buena Vista cemetery this afternoon.

Police have no clues about his identity, no ID cards and no missing persons reports. They are saying that one possibility is that the body may have come from down the river and washed up. The investigation continues…
