Sr. Supt. Edward Broaster - OC, Eastern Division Rural
"Yesterday our rural rapid response team intercepted a black Infinity QX4 with license place BZC-46386, at the time occupied by Kingsley Cadle, age 34 and Anthony Garbutt, age 42. When intercepted our officers observed a firearm being thrown from the vehicle which was recovered and found to be a .22 revolver with serial number 529891, containing 5 live rounds of ammunition and one expended shell. The two individuals has since been charged for kept firearm without a gun license and kept ammunition without a gun license and the vehicle is impounded."

"I want to note that the officers observed as well that the firearm was recently fired. Nevertheless we don't have any reports of any shots fired anywhere in the rural area, but we are sure that it was done in the rural area."

"We have our rural rapid response and our what we called "Red Trooper" doing highway patrol and ensuring that we look out for those individuals who may want to come and cause havoc in our area and our rural rapid response spotted the Infinity, knew that the Infinity belong to Carlos Abraham who is a person of interest in the aggravated burglary along with another outstanding individual who we are actively seeking that is in the name of Grinage, but the Infinity, our officers have good knowledge of the Infinity. They stopped the Infinity on the Philip Goldson Highway between miles 12-13 when they observed the firearm being thrown from the vehicle."

In court today, Cadle took a plea and will serve 5 years in prison while Garbutt's charges were withdrawn after Cadle pled guilty.
