25 year-old Jeffrey McDougal, a labourer of 40 King Street, is spending the second night on remand after he was taken to court for shooting another Belize City resident.

The victim, Brandon Allen, reported to police that on Sunday December 13, he was walking on East Canal Street. When he reached the Water Lane Junction, someone fired a barrage of shots at him, injuring him in the buttocks.

Police arrested and charged McDougal with the offences of attempted murder, dangerous harm, and use of deadly means of harm. He was remanded into custody until February 15, 2016.
