Insp.Nicholas Paloma Deputy - Orange Walk Police
"On the right hand side walking into the bushes about 10 yards into the bushes, police observed the body of a male person hanging from a tree from a yellow rope. The body was wearing a light blue long sleeve shirt and due to the advance stage of decomposition we have not identified who the person is. However we found that half of the torso had come off of the body. One of the hands of the person has a yellow watch, we do not know the brand yet. There on the scene we found white bag that contained a piece of machete - contained a cell phone and a black shirt and a red rag."

While the scene had elements consistent with suicide, authorities are not ruling out any possibilities. According to authorities there were no visible wounds on body. Police are awaiting the results of an onsite postmortem examination.
