Pregnant Mother Stole; Will Now Spend 7 Years In Jail
posted (February 23, 2016)
Margarita Pech, a pregnant mother to be, is spending the second night of a 7 year prison sentence behind bars after she pleaded guilty to burglarizing a home and then stealing from a doctor at the KHMH in two separate crimes. Her version as to why she committed the crime is that she was coerced into doing it by thugs who allegedly threaten her life and the life her unborn child.

The incident happened on May 29 of last year at a house on Eyrie Street. The owner reported to police that someone went into the house and stole an assortment of jewelry, and a toy computer. Then, a doctor reported to police that someone stole his wallet and personal documents on the same day that Margarita Pech went to seek treatment.

Police investigated both reports, and they found surveillance footage which captured Pech in the act of committing both crimes. They also managed to recover some of the stolen jewelry from the burglary from Pech herself. She was then charged burglary for that incident, and theft for the stolen wallet.

She was arraigned before Senior Magistrate Sharon Frazer and she pleaded guilty to both offences, with the explanation that some men forced her into committing both crimes by threatening her and her unborn child's life. As to the doctor's personal documents, when she was asked by the court of their whereabouts, she said that she threw them into the canal.

After consideration, the Magistrate did not believe her story of being threatened, and Magistrate Frazer sentenced her to spend a total of 7 years in jail.
