Victor Garnett was murdered two weeks ago at the corner of St. Jude and Sibun Streets. The shooting occurred in broad daylight and two teenaged minors were
named as suspects. When we last spoke to ACP Chester Williams on this matter, the investigation was looking good. They had a 15 year old detained and were
hoping to lay charges pretty soon. But that is no longer the case. As it turns out, they had to let the suspect go because of unwilling witnesses, and a
lack of physical evidence. ACP Williams told us more.

"We have been told everything that happened. We know the suspect is but at this time we have been unable to make an arrest because of the fact that we
have not been able to get anything in terms of evidence reduced to writing. So that is the hold back with murder investigations we currently have going
on Southside Belize City but our efforts continue because at the end of the day, I think that it is important that we solve these crimes because
solving them is a measure or prevention as well; so we are working on them still."

"There were two persons, one was a lookout person and the other one was a gunman or a gun toddler."

"The use of nearby video cameras, did that not play any significant role in trying to pin this person, to 100% pin him to this crime?"

"I will not comment about the video camera but I will just say this, we 100% sure who the gun toddler is and we are 100% sure who the lookout person is
and we are 100% sure as to who sent them to commit the crime."
But again the lack of physical evidence, Williams says, is hindering their progress in levying an effective charge. All that Williams could tell us at this
moment was that the investigation has revealed that Garnett's murder was in fact drug related.
