The firings of UDP stalwarts from the office of UDP Area Rep for Belize Rural Central, Beverly Castillo has been in the news for two weeks now.

And while much has been said, Castillo hasn't said much, only pointing us to a Facebook post indicating that one of the terminated women, Ingrid Hernandez, admitted that she leaked information from Castillo's office.

Since then, Hernandez was hired by deputy PM, Patrick Faber and Elena Kerr was hired ta the City Council. And after that, everyone might have lived happily ever after…but in politics there are very few fairytale endings and for a handful of Ladyville residents, it's not over until Castillo relocates her office from the village. At least that's what they say. Last week Thursday these same residents came out with placards, but the protest backfired because they did not get a license to protest. But today all their papers were in order, and so they hit the streets again hoping to draw attention to an issue which they claim to be political victimization.

"Why did you feel it important to come out here in support of this movement?"

James Wade, Protestor/Ladyville Resident
"Because of the injustice that has been done to my wife and all the people of Ladyville. The people of Ladyville need to know about the person that Beverly Castillo is really, because she promises one thing and now she is doing another. Now the election have come and gone, but the people of Ladyville is very upset about the way how Beverly Castillo is dealing with the situation - no comment - no nothing. Look at the drains, look at our streets. Talking about doing work and all these other things are not happening. So right now we just want Ladyville people understand that we will not stand up and let any politician take us for cow, horse or goat, because we are not pigs."

Emanuel Pech
"You guys were here the last time. Why did you guys feel it necessary to come back again?"

Ladyville resident, Protestor
"Because we want them to understand that we are serious, we are not playing."

Emanuel Pech
"I notice this time around that you guys have a little more crowd. Does that benefit you guys in any way?"

Ladyville resident, Protestor
"It's not the amount, it's the amount of words right, because at the end of the day we expected more people, but then the Belizean people already got use to get bribe with hard rum from the politicians with fifty dollars. We don't have that to give anyone. But we who are out here are real people. We are not fake like the others who are pretending like they are into this and they are not."

Emanuel Pech
"This is the second time you guys are here. Do you guys plan to be here a third time maybe?"

Ladyville resident, Protestor
"Yes, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, and 7th - we are coming and always will be out here to burn fire on Miss Beverly Castillo, because she got to go."

Last time around, these protesters had about 4 persons in their ranks. Today their number grew to 9 - double, but not what you would call impressive. One of those who joined this morning was Ingrid Hernandez herself. But she only got fired up enough to talk to us after persons from inside Castillo's office began throwing words at her. They questioned her immigration status, and here's how Hernandez responded.

James Wade, Protestor - Ladyville Resident
"This is what they called Ingrid Hernandez - alien. I didn't know an alien have a social security card and as a Belizean. Anything on this say resident alien? What is her country? Her country say Belize."

Ingrid Hernandez, Was Fired
"Like I said last week I am not here to protest against the country of Belize. I am here to say something on behalf of Beverly Castillo. Because she is a vindictive lady. Now, because of the allegations against her, she came and brought up all kinds of things about me. You know when a person is angry, they want to bring up all kinds of thing. If I get on the media and I say all what Beverly do, her career would be finish. So it's best she leave me and my family alone, so that we can continue to live in peace and let me pick up the pieces from what she already destroyed and moved on. I am a mother with children. I have done Beverly Castillo no wrong. All those false allegation that she is saying about me is happening in her office right now."

Castillo declined comment on Tuesday and today.
