There was a multiple care pileup this afternoon on the Western Highway. It happened at 2:15 between miles 34 & 35. A white BTL Isuzu D-Max driven by Mark Anderson collided into a Cargo truck driven by Guillermo Canto of San Ignacio Town - while a black Mitsubishi Montero Sport driven by 25 year old Vanessa Canto, was also involved in the pileup.
So far, police have concluded that the cargo truck was travelling towards Belmopan when the BTL Dmax - heading to the city - swerved into its lane - collided into the left driver side of the Cargo truck, snapping its front wheel and crushing the front end of the D-Max. The Black Montero was coming behind the cargo truck and also collided into the D-Max.
The two men in the cargo truck complained of pain to their midsection, while Vanessa Canto who is from San Ignacio received an abrasion to the left side of her face, an injured wrist, and ankle. Another passenger, Lucio Canto had chest pain and a swollen forehead.
