So, while that's the rage that the teachers have for their Minister, a part of their grievance with the Prime Minister is that he has asked them to defer the third tranche of their salary adjustment.
Financial Secretary Joseph Waight was in that meeting with the joint unions which happened on last Friday. Neither the Prime Minister nor the union representatives wanted to get into too detail since they wanted to give the Unions a chance to return to their constituents about a proposal that the Government tabled.
Today, we asked Waight to share a few more details about the nature of this new proposal. He discussed it briefly with us:
The 3 unions will give another response to the Prime Minister after consulting with their members.
