BNTU Says Faber Never Wanted to Talk Education Issues
posted (September 30, 2016)
And the teachers union council of management also had some choice words for Education Minister Patrick Faber. He said that the teachers should be focusing on classroom issues, not national issues. They say Faber never game them a chance to ventilate those issues:..

Luke Palacio - National President, BNTU
"Let Minister Faber not continue to try and mislead this nation. We have asked for meetings with Minister Faber, in fact when he first got elected for the previous government, there was an arrangement where we met with the minister on a quarterly basis. He said 'no that's too long, I'll meet with you every 3 months', he has not met with us in over 3 years. So how can we be bringing up education issues with him? Whenever we go to a meeting it's either with his chief education officer or his chief executive officer. Whenever we are to have meetings he agrees to it and when we get there, 'we apologize for the minister, he cannot be here'. If he were so sure of what he's talking about, he should have listed the things that he believes teachers and the BNTU should be addressing because he has not given us that opportunity."
