Belizeans At WOMEX

The World Music Expo, also known as WOMEX is a five day event that brings together everyone involved in the music industry. WOMEX is an international platform for musicians, performers and producers to show off their works and sample the creations of other artists. It also awards musicians for their achievements in the field. In 2007, Andy Palacio and Ivan Duran won the WOMEX Award for their accomplishments on the Watina album.

WOMEX 2016 started today in Santiago de Compostela, Spain and 8 Belizeans joined more than 2,500 delegates from 90 countries for the festivities. Among them are Shyne Barrow, Belize’s Music Ambassador, well-known singer Jackie Castillo, Troy “DJ Dallaâ€￾ Flowers, Tyfara Panton of Flavaz Entertainment, and 5 time Garifuna Music Awards winner Clayton Williams, known for his hit song, Bibagari.

And while that is the official delegation, Ivan Duran form Stonetree Records is also there with Al Ovando and James Sanker from MIAB
