Zebedeeā€™s Memory and Mission Live On
posted (November 1, 2016)
The Feed My Sheep Kitchen, a project started by the late Zebedee Pitterson of the Sunny Side Bakery in Belize City, once fed over 100 needy primary school children. Today, over two years since its founder's death, the project has been re-launched by his church with a larger vision. We spoke to Pastor Angelo Dominguez, the kitchen's overseer, about the project's new vision...

Angelo Dominguez - Project Overseer/Pastor
"Well the truth of the matter is that we believe, as a church, that the work the Mr. Pitterson was doing was a divine initiative. He was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church and we want to simply continue the good work that he had started in reaching out to the children he used to feed. We would like to do more than that. We also want to reach out to the poor, we wanna reach out to the elderly, we want to impact our community as a church, following in his footsteps as well."

Ingrid Ferlo, reporter
"How many people do you think you guys are going to be able to reach out to?"

Angelo Dominguez - Project Overseer/Pastor
"To start with, we are planning to feed 80 children, our projection is much more than that. And then we also want to target as I stated previously we want to target the poor, we wanna target the elderly, we're gonna have a special day where we'll have a soup kitchen and invite them in. We'll be having health talks, free blood pressure checkups. Also, it's going to be something like a resource center where the children can come, be assisted with their homework, free counselling from professional counselors, so it's a holistic program that we're looking at."

The Feed My Sheep Kitchen aims to provide warm and healthy meals for those in need.
